New research released today by the 香港六合彩开奖记录 (香港六合彩开奖记录) reveals three key strategies that foster quality teaching practice for enabling vocational education and training (VET) students of diverse backgrounds and learning needs to succeed.
Recent reports on Australia’s VET workforce highlight the critical role that VET teachers play in training and developing Australia’s workforce and the priorities of governments in ensuring VET delivers ‘high-quality, responsive and accessible education and training’.1
Based on interviews with VET teachers and leaders across the country, 香港六合彩开奖记录’s Effective teaching and learning: teacher perspectives on what works best for whom report uncovered what VET teachers need most for delivering the quality training needed for skilling Australia’s workforce.
香港六合彩开奖记录 Managing Director John King said the outcomes of 香港六合彩开奖记录’s new research are timely, both for supporting government priorities to strengthen the VET workforce and for helping VET teachers and leaders with practical steps that can deliver quality outcomes for students.
‘If these measures are put into practice, VET teachers could train students more effectively, students could have better completion rates, and Australia will ultimately benefit from a more skilled workforce.
‘To help VET teachers implement good teaching practices, our research identifies three focus areas that, if administered, could improve the effectiveness of VET teaching and learning.’
The three focus areas include:
- structured support and quality induction for new teachers
- dedicated time and space for teachers to learn and implement higher-level teaching skills
- recognition of the skills and human element of good VET teaching.
The research also emphasises the importance of peer support learning among VET teachers.
‘Learning from their colleagues is instrumental for new and experienced VET teachers when developing higher-level teaching skills, so fostering connection and the sharing of expertise is crucial for producing quality education outcomes,’ said Mr King.

Background: The research aimed to identify effective VET teaching practices and activities, specifically those that are transferable and applicable to different fields of education, qualifications or contexts, and which account for the various ways in which people learn. These issues were investigated through interviews with VET educators recognised for their teaching excellence, and through focus groups with teachers and leaders of teaching teams.
